Fan the Flame (2 Timothy)

Scott Wakefield   -

If you have a relationship with Christ, it is almost certain that it is because you had a relationship with a person who had a relationship with Christ. The Bible word for this is “disciplemaking” (Matt 28:18-20). In other words, your faith didn’t come from thin air. It was given to you, ultimately by the Lord, through the mentoring of someone who cared enough to share their life with you.
Paul wrote 2 Timothy to his spiritual son in the faith, Timothy, to encourage him to “fan into flame the gift of God” which was in him through Paul’s ministry (2 Tim 1:6). Together, we will study this encouraging and motivating book, through the eyes of Timothy, so that we Fan the Flame of faith with which we’ve been entrusted (2 Tim 1:13-14), in order to become a Paul whose life catches fire in someone else!
