MIX: Third Person

FCC   -

The Middle School MIX Conference is happening June 22-26!

MIX is an awesome four-day summer event specifically designed for students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. It is intentionally crafted in ways that will engage middle school students through tactile, interactive, and fun activities, coupled with Bible-based teaching and small group interaction.

MIX also gives adult leaders the chance to build relationships with students that will last long after the MIX experience. At MIX, our students will come to understand their identity in God’s Kingdom, and be challenged to embrace the Kingdom work He has prepared for them.

We will be attending MIX at Lee University. Located in Cleveland, TN, just outside Chattanooga, Lee University has a campus that cannot be outdone. As soon as you walk onto campus, you get the feeling of the south. Historic brick buildings with towering white pillars and huge shade trees scatter the campus making you feel separated from the town. Although the recreation facilities are not to be outdone by the beautiful landscaping, Lee University offers top of the line indoor and outdoor facilities. From the dorms to large shade trees, no detail has been overlooked.

The early bird price for MIX this year is $320, if you sign up by April 6. This includes all meals (except lunch on Monday and Breakfast on Friday), transportation, lodging, conference, and a free day activity in Chattanooga. After April 6 the price will be $340, and after April 15 the price will be $350. A $50 deposit is due at the time of registration and then $100 at the end of each month until the full amount is paid.

Here’s a section from this year’s theme:

“There’s a moment where Jesus looks at his disciples and says, “It’s better for me to leave you.” This might’ve been the first time they ever disagreed with Jesus, and the rest of us may disagree, as well…

For some reason Jesus doesn’t agree, and He says it’s better for us if He leaves. In this conversation with the disciples, Jesus says, “Unless I leave you, the Advocate cannot come.” Who is this Advocate?…

In the summer of 2020, MIX will discover what it means to have the Spirit of the all-powerful God living inside us – giving us strength, changing us and advocating for us. It’s through Him that we have God living within us. We worship the Father. We love Jesus. And It’s time for us to talk about the Third Person.”
