Pray to hear God’s Word.
Context is king.
Scripture interprets Scripture.

Read from the text, not into it.
Read the text literally and/or figuratively, but not always literalistically.
Avoid chronological snobbery.

These are a few examples of the kinds of principles we’ll use as we study the text together. Join us as we look at a few verses that are often misused.

June 22 – “Don’t Judge Me!” (Matt 7:1)
June 29 – “God is in our midst.” (Matt 18:20)
July 6 – “God will never give you more than you can handle.” (1 Cor 10:13)
July 13 – “Money is the root of all evil.” (1 Tim 6:10)
July 20 – “Train up a child in the way he should go.” (Prov 22:6)
July 27 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Phil 4:13)
August 3 – “Pray it! Believe it! Receive it!” (Mark 11:22-24)
